A deadly new drug known as "Mech" in the Serco Empire has made its debut in Itani controlled space. "Mech" though relatively harmless to Serco... (due to their bodies being familiar and accustomed to implants) can have potentially deadly effects on the Itani.
The drug is a specialized form of nanite which alters body chemistry on a cellular level producing a euphoric feeling but also altering the body in a lasting physical way. The nanites see the body as imperfect and there for endeavor to change it... often times replacing organs with more efficient bio mechanical replacements.
The danger comes in when for example a heart is replaced with a bio mechanical heart that operates at two hundred percent efficiency, and the circulatory system can not keep up. The president and CEO of the power house UIT sub faction TPG was seriously wounded in an assassination attempt Monday when a blast hit his convoy. The full extent of his injuries are unknown but, it is certain that he suffered a severe brain concussion, fractured ribs and a ruptured liver, a TPG spokeswoman said. The vice president who was also injured underwent minor surgery to remove shrapnel and his currently in stable but guarded condition. The TPG convoy they were traveling in was headed to an international trade summit Monday evening, when a suicide squad attacked destroying the security escorts before turning back to attack the two TPG Tridents. After a barrage of Sunflare rockets, the assassins crashed their TPG Raptors into the bridge areas and docking bays before detonating explosives packed into the cargo holds of their ships. law enforcement officials told local media. Witnesses claim that at least one of the Tridents was able to launch escape pods. Apart from the president and vice president there were no survivors. |
