 17000 dead in Itani attack                    SKY Interview  

Scattered reports are filtering in from many sources that the Itani Defense Forces crossed into Serco space in the early hours of the morning making what the Itani government claimed were precision planet side attacks on several "targets of strategic importance". However, UIT action news crews in the area discovered that the targets were actually several Serco refugee camps a school and a hospital. In total 17,346 Serco were killed including children. Of the dead only 11 were military personal 5 of which were medics.

The Itani government is claiming that the strikes, which they do not deny...were against actual military targets and that the IDF has never and will never target, much less kill civilians.

All evidence does however indicate that the targets of this attack were in fact civilians, which has led many people to question the Itani side of the conflict. Naturally journalistic ethics and concern for their well being forbid me from revealing my sources by name. However, I can say that the sources include officials from the "Serco Medical and Maintenance Coalition" as well as Several Itani monks from the organizations..."The Brotherhood of Eo's peace" and "Eo's Brotherhood of Peace" The reports were independently confirmed by several UIT traders who were in the vicinity as well as two high ranking Itani government officials speaking on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal. One of the officials theorized that the attack is due to the suspected infiltration of the Itani Defense Forces by the "Order of Akan". When other Itani officials were asked to comment on the infiltration, which allegedly goes to the highest ranks of the IDF...most simply replied "no comment". However, one high ranking IDF suggested a personal meeting in the Edras system.

 "As most of you know, today is a day of sorrow and mourning for the Serco people. As many of you have heard rumors, I will present the facts of what has occurred in the last few hours.
This morning, while most of you slept, Itani raiders, claiming allegiance to the Itani Defense Force launched several simultaneous attacks inside our borders. These attacks that the IDF claim were against legitimate targets instead targeted several refugee camps, including a school and hospital area. These blatant attacks on unarmed civilians has resulted in over 17,000 fatalities, and an as-of-yet unknown number of injuries."

UIT ACTION NEWS: so, what most people want to know...is, what is this war all about and what caused it?

*AgY* war against TGFT .. there are multiple reasons

UIT ACTION NEWS: care to elaborate?

*AgY* the most obvious is: they are the biggest trading guild

UIT ACTION NEWS: so its profit based?

*AgY* mainly, its nothing personal against any TGFT (as persons) we declared war because they are traders and they have way too much money

UIT ACTION NEWS:: how do you respond to the people who say this war will be largely or completely ineffective?

*AgY* atm: they are right. they have too much money and there isnt much we can do about but someone has todo it

UIT ACTION NEWS: so essentially its a war for profit and something to do?

*AgY* not really, fighting VPR is fighting the most visible part of TGFT

UIT ACTION NEWS: ok, one last question, as a Serco guild at war...will this war spill over to fighting ITAN?

AgY: yes we fight all itans (still) and i would like to add one thing VPRs and ITANs insult us for griefing and ganking but they started doing it everyone not being a VPR or a ITAN (that may include SKV) can expect a fair fight

UIT ACTION NEWS: ok...then first question...why did you leave VPR?

FUROR POETICUS: this is going to be a bit longwinded, i left for several reasons. the first being i felt too constrained by the rules. Now keep in mind anything i say is NOT to badmouth them. theyre great guys.

UIT ACTION NEWS: could you elaborate on "constrained"?

FUROR POETICUS: due to the fact i usually come on late at night, when no other VPRs are on, I felt forced to due patrols and hunt rats constantly, other members have recently told me i never hAVE to do pats. however strat conveyed things to me to make it sound like patrols had to be done every time you logged in

UIT ACTION NEWS: I see, and the other reasons?

FUROR POETICUS: other reasons were that i havent won a fight in weeks. other people might just enjoy the pvp, but fighting people like pey and kmetreq makes you hate pvp quick. Fighting Ret, FB, Mortis etc is fun, fighting griefers isnt.

UIT ACTION NEWS: very true

FUROR POETICUS: also losing all the time was not working wonders on my self esteem and i felt like my ability wasnt good enough to bother

UIT ACTION NEWS: is it true that VPR is funded by TGFT?

FUROR POETICUS: i wouldnt know about "funding" but Theopolis(if hes TGFT) donated a cache of rare guns to VPR recently. TGFT and VPR DO have a formal alliance though. VPR has several NAPs but TGFT has the only actual alliance.

UIT ACTION NEWS: do you feel that the allience makes VPR favor escorting TGFT over other guilds or non guilded pilots

FUROR POETICUS: the basic pilots no. I dont believe they hold any favor. The higher ups like Strat, MDuncan, and NIut...its possible. i never saw any direct evidence from Duncan or Niut, but I wouldnt put it past Strat.

UIT ACTION NEWS: ok, there seems to be a good amount of ill will towards TGFT lately, what do you think about that? is there a reason?

FUROR POETICUS: well the only ill will i know about came from Sembei as she was removed from VPR, and Mecha apparently had some drama with them the reason behind this is unknown to me, however

UIT ACTION NEWS: Also...it seems SKY has recently decared war on TGFT and VPR...any insights?

FUROR POETICUS: SKY has openly declared itself a pirate guild. They are at war with the universe and should be destroyed on sight

UIT ACTION NEWS: but in thier decalration they only imply that they are at war with TGFT and to a lesser degree VPR, or other groups that seek to impose thier will on the grey areas of space...which theorically would include pirate guilds

FUROR POETICUS: this would essentially mean they declare war on PA as well does it not?

UIT ACTION NEWS: as far as I know PA does not seek to impose its will on anyone or anything, merely to be a support system for each other

FUROR POETICUS: yes but PA operates in grey space and has a history of crushing organized pirate acitivity within their domain, what better way to make PA be a little off guard than make them think they arent targets?

UIT ACTION NEWS: fair enough, I suppose we will have to see what the future holds for PA and SKY. getting back to VPR...over all how effective would you say VPR is in its anti pirate pursuits?

FUROR POETICUS: back when i started when CLM was the pirate powerhouse, i think they did their jobs well, CLM had a grudging respect for VPR and vice versa, they were friends who had to kill each other.

UIT ACTION NEWS: that implies that recently things may have changed?

FUROR POETICUS: now with the griefers using dishonorable pvp tactics and such, i think they are falling a little behind and something new is needed. VPR even refuses to contract EMS in battle, due to the fact that rats use them and using mercs is dishonorable.

UIT ACTION NEWS: such as? new members? new tactics? perhaps some training from Peytros to better fight people like him?

FUROR POETICUS: i believe a new guild is needed to control greyspace

UIT ACTION NEWS: a new guild with new tactics?

FUROR POETICUS: oh yes. Ive thought things well through on this matter even when still in VPR

UIT ACTION NEWS: any ideas youd care to share?

FUROR POETICUS: that depends. where is all this being posted/shared?

FUROR POETICUS: very well then. i can share this with you, since it may spark desire to rally around my idea. my idea is this: create a greyspace guild that acts as VPR but on a larger scale and only providing protection in grey space
no travelling with others into nation space. no escorts for free. if you want help you pay, although small fees. nothing like a rats 500k demands. This group would be called ARES: Armed Retribution and Elimination Specialists

UIT ACTION NEWS: so named after the Greek god of war...as VO's resident Greek, I approve.

FUROR POETICUS: but pirates in THC and SKY and people like k'metreq would be shown no mercy. if three ARES find one THC rat. all shall attack and destroy at
once. Why show honor and mercy to those who do not know these ideals? The war must be brought full force against them.

UIT ACTION NEWS: so the goal would be larger numbers and to bring law to grey space

FUROR POETICUS: yes exactly

UIT ACTION NEWS: do you think this guild could exist harmoniously with VPR? or would there be conflict?

FUROR POETICUS: I would harbor no ill will and only respect for VPR. However, VPR only numbers around 20 pilots, not counting untagged recruits. they do not have the numbers to accomplish their goals.

UIT ACTION NEWS: do you think this proposed guild would have more members despite being restricted to grey space?

FUROR POETICUS: Furor Poeticus* members of ARES would be free to fly wherever they wish. our war time activities would be restricted to grey space. if an ARES pilot wished to engage in the Serco/Itani War, they would be free to. if they enjoy hunting the Hive, they would be free to etc

UIT ACTION NEWS: so it would be open war on the pirate and griefer guilds

FUROR POETICUS: yes. open and unending war. Again, respectable CLM pirates and the like would be shown the respect they give others. honorable 1v1 combat. pilots without those morals would not be given such. it would be seek and destroy for them.

UIT ACTION NEWS: you stated that the escorts would be at a small fee...is it a flat rate or based on distance?

FUROR POETICUS: i would say distance and risk. Someone going from Bractus to Jallik would not be charged the same as Helios to Pelatus. and honestly, to keep hostility with VPR nonexistant, escorts would only be offered if VPR was unavailable.

UIT ACTION NEWS: do you think that TGFT will try to make some arrangement with this guild as they have with VPR, and if so what would such an arrangment?

FUROR POETICUS: that would be up to them. ARES would hope to have NAPs with guilds such as PA, TGFT, VPR, ITAN, and ONE

UIT ACTION NEWS: and what if SKY limited its war to the groups mentioned in their declaration of war? would you consider a NAP with them?

FUROR POETICUS: if for instance, a TGFT trader was being assaulted by one or more members of SKY/THC, an ARES pilot should feel free to call in any assistance needed to ensure the safety of said trader and the returning of stolen goods. destruction of the pirates would be paramount. and to answer your question on SKY. No. I would never allow any sort of agreement with those loathsome scum. They cantbe trusted to keep it. not only that but a war on TGFT and VPR would constitute war upon order and commerce in grey space. intolerable.

UIT ACTION NEWS: on a personal note...probably not for publication...is S*rb**s as big a douche bag as he seems?

FUROR POETICUS: ive never really spoken to him. i have heard he IS an ******* though. if it matters i have peacefully hailed when ive seen him...he never responds.

UIT ACTION NEWS: hmmm...perhaps a bit snobbish

UIT ACTION NEWS: as a final question...do you have any opinions as a Serco on the Serco/Itani conflict or the recent Itani massacre of 17000 Serco civilians?

FUROR POETICUS: i believe the war to be a necessary means to an end. I personally believe civilians should never be targeted.
